jemsite forum RSS feeds

do you guys have any interest in RSS feeds from jemsite forum?

i am working on a forum update (next couple of weeks going to the latest version of vB which has some nice stuff forthcoming including member blogs).

you can see a sample RSS feed of the entire board here:
http://www.jemsite.com/forums/external.php?type=rss2

or even easier click this icon in the addy bar of firefox browser or IE toolbar from a sub forum or mainpage.

updates itself every 10 minutes

Re: jemsite forum RSS feeds

I haven't really used RSS before, but I think I'd be more inclined to start using it seeing as I'm interested in jemsite.

I'm looking forward to the forum update! lol

Re: jemsite forum RSS feeds

I like it, but would only use it if it was for specific forums. It looks like its for the entire list, where I only check the Off Topic, Jem/Universe, & Classified Jem/Universe forums on a regular basis. I do peek in on some other sections from time to time, but wouldn't want an RSS feed of them. If it were for specific sections I would use the hell out of it, but as it is now, I wouldn't use it, too much information to sift through to get to what I consider the "good stuff".

It's always good to keep updating the forum with new features and the members blogs sounds cool. I seriously doubt that I would personally use the RSS feed though.

RSS stands for Real Simple Syndicating. Basically, if you look at the RSS feed for jemsite or another website, you will see the latest news or latest forum topics. It's a nice way to browse through only the new topics, which you can look at in full if you want if one peaks any interest.

What's the difference between "new posts" and a RSS feed?

Everyone wants technology like this, but few people use it. Can you set an RSS up to show the most viewed threads of late? That might actually come in handy now and then.

i didn't clarify much in my initial post but you can get the feed from any forum area by clicking on the RSS icon that appears in your browser's address bar. when in a subforum it gives a drop-down menu to choose entire board or forum area... glen
