A few years back I was at a friends place having a few drinks with a couple of good mates, and naturally that was followed by the three of us having the urge to consume unhealthy fast food.
I was given a promise by my two friends "If you drive us to Macdonalds, we'll call you something cool in front of girls, like Slam Dunk."
Needless to say, I had been drinking and was in no state to drive so that was never going to happen, I also didn't feel the name would do me any favours but for some reason the name stuck anyway and I've been Slam to all my friends since then, and my online usernames have all been SlamDunkH.

I was actually given my nickname by Ritchie Blackmore. I was a lad of 14. My dad was a big wig at Fender. I'd like to say it was because he was impressed by my playing, but he never saw me play. I was introduced as Eddie and Ritchie said "Fast Eddie."

My nickname on this site is because I have a few world land speed records (SCTA) set at the Bonneville Salt Flats.

I currently have 3 race vehicles (Modified Sports, Streamliner [in development] and a Hayabusa motorcycle [over 600 wheel HP]). I am also a consultant for several land speed projects over the world (engineering, safety, concept and aero).

I will be running at SpeedWeek (the 'big show') next August.

I was also on the Travel Channel a couple of months ago in a show called 'worlds wildest roads'.

Check out the movie 'Worlds Fastest Indian', it is a very good representation of what land speed racers are like, and what goes into doing this sort of thing.
