Just Scored Ritchie Blackmore's Marshall Speakers

I was doing a project in a local studio here in CT and the engineer turned me onto a cool opportunity: in the guitar booth he hung a bunch of 12" celestion speakers on the wall so I asked what the deal was...

He knows people who were in the Deep Purple organization a long time who have a bunch of Ritchie's Celection 35 watt speakers all dated and numbered - - evidentely, for all Deep Purple shows he only used speakers for one performance and then changed them out for new ones -and I was able to grab eight of them for one of my full Marshall stacks - DEEP PURPLE MARSHALLS, BABY. Hand dated and numbered -each one - so I can research which show he played them in. I'll be hooking them up this weekend.

I know it's childish, but I've always been a Blackmore/ Deep Purple fan and to have Ritchie's rig as part of my rig is really cool.

I am late to the party at really listening and taking in Ritchie Blackmore's playing. I always knew he was good.

Only now am I learning how really good he is.

Congrats! A cool score.
