Kind of interesting day yesterday
So I was sitting on Jemsite yesterday minding my own business when I hear my neighbors screaming next door. They are always fighting about something so I try to tune it out and keep doing my thing. Then I hear sirens approaching. They fight alot but the cops are never involved so I just ignore it, until someone knocks at my door. I slowly walk down the stairs because I dont want to be bothered and hope whoever it is will go away. Turns out its a cop and he drags me out of the house yelling that my neighbors house is on fire. True story, on the other side of our common wall (I live in a townhouse) was a pretty sizable fire that ended up destroying their second floor. It was 10 feet (3 meters?) from where I was sitting and I was none the wiser about it. It was a little scary being outside and knowing how close the fire was to my house.

Re: Kind of interesting day yesterday
Butthole fire department wouldnt let me.
I wanted to go over to my neighbors and first off yell at them for not letting me know sooner and putting me an an increased risk for harm, and secondly to see if there was anything I could do to help them, but I never met them and couldnt pick them out of the crowd.
On the plus side there was a chick firefighter, and although she wasnt that great looking (I purposely avoided using the word "hot") I still wanted to toss one in her.

Townhouse resident as well - this is one of my major concerns too. One of the people in the block across the drive had a damn good try at burning down the entire block a couple of weeks ago.
Scary.

Re: Kind of interesting day yesterday
Nothing opening the windows and turning on a fan didnt take care of. Apparently the firewall really did its job. From what I have to fire stop at work, the wall probably gave me about 2 hours before there would be significant damage.

Re: Kind of interesting day yesterday
So, did the cops or firemen (and lady) find out the cause of the fire Cid? The was a twonhouse in our neighborhood that caught on fire and basically the whole house got burned down. What was interesting to see was how they basically rebuilt the whole house from scratch without having to pester the neighbors on either side (it was an interior unit next to the end unit). When the house was completed, my wife and I went in there to check it out (b/c they put it up for sale) and it was basically brand new inside.
I'm glad you and mrs. Cid made it out safely.
Jimmy
