Looking for...

Well Im looking for a car/truck that is either a 4 Wheel drive or a Front wheel drive. (NO REAR WHEEL) it Has to be a GM model (no ford or foreign crap) because they cost more to fix and I dont wanna drive 100 miles if it needs to be fixed. Oh yes I'm looking to spend under $5000

Heres what Ive looked at

Oldsmobile Aurora
Buick LeSabre/century
Chevy Silverados
Chevy Astro (AWD)

Likes-
Tinted glass (DARK BLACK)
Dual Exhausts
Bright colors
6 or 8 cylinder

Dislikes-
lots of stickers/graphics
odd colored window tint (purple)
Long boxes (trucks)
Lots of trim (astro vans)
Dull colors
Extended (astro vans)
4 Cylinder (Yuck!)

I know for a fact that Buick has a good Motor (3800 Series II V6)
The Chevy trucks use a (350 V which last a LONG TIME

I dont want anything under 1996 and I DONT DONT DONT Want over 130k Miles. Anyone have suggestions?

Irony - Noun. incongruity between the actual result of a sequence of events and the normal or expected result. See: "Anarchist" worrying about rules.

Aren't Silverados rear wheel drive?

Re: Looking for...

Dont mess with the Astro. There is a flaw, in the fact that the mounts for the fans , and powersteering are all attacked to one bracket.
There is so much tension on the bracket that they have a tendency to crack, and then break.

And when they break, you are in for a real NIGHTMARE!!!!!

Everything has to come off of the bracket and remounting has to take place.
I have seen the same bracket replaced on a Astro 3 times with breakage in the same area.

VERY EXPENSIVE!!!!

And I think Cid is right on the Silverado being rear wheel drive.

Re: Looking for...

I've seen many 4WD Silverados. Not many in the $5K range with under 130K mileage.

Yeah Silverados are rear wheel drive, but they can easily be switched to 4WD when needed, See if I had just a rear wheel drive that didnt have the 4WD option that would be an issue getting stuck, Going up my drive way (yes it is a black top driveway) but it gets really icey.

Plus Silverados being rear wheel drive I can whip some donuts

Joke ^

There is a level of expectation on this forum. I expect to be able to open thread an not have to worry about my kids sitting nearby seeing some naked chick holding a guitar. You got a problem with that?

Re: Looking for...

Not at all, I just appreciate the irony in life. A guy who beats on his chest that he's an anarchist worrying about the rules of an internet message board is funny to me. Actually it's really funny to me.

Me too - extremely funny!

It's like the anarchist worrying about software piracy too!

Anarchy- Noun. A belief system that there should be no rules (that are inconvenient to me)
