Mac help: powerbook display is gone

I'm not sure if there is a solution i can try before I take my G4 titanium powerbook in for repairs, but the last time i was able to use it, the display was fine, until it started to act up. It would look like a tv with a bad reception, color would be whacked, and the picture would move, and look like it will die in seconds......now i start up my powerbook, and all I see is a white display with absolutely no graphics........looks like the display went dead.

Before i take this in, do any Mac experts have a solution i can try here??
How much do you think it will cost to get it fixed??

If it's out of warranty it will cost ridiculous amounts of money to fix. If it's on warranty, it will cost nothing. I'd rather not "try" anything on it before you find out how much it's going to cost you to fix it in its present state. Go to the nearest Mac store, ask a "genius" there. They may give you a rough estimate.

Funky video problems in laptops usually arise from bad flex cables. I've recently done a whole display swap in a Dell Inspiron 4000 laptop and the problem turned out to be just the cable which cost me about $10 on ****.

Re: Mac help: powerbook display is gone

a local computer store here told me that it could be just a bad cable. I was able to hook up an external monitor to the mac, and i could see all the graphics in the monitor, but still not on the powerbook display......so i'm thinking theres a bad cable or connection somewhere.

It's not under warranty anymore, so forget about the free fix.
