Making Eggnog for Christmas - any suggestions?

I guess the US folks will be able to give me some advice....

I'm gonna use bourbon, nutmeg, some vanilla pod and of course the egg, milk and cream.

Any advice from you mama's out there?

Who you callin' mama?

Advice: Drink bourbon yourself, give the rest of the ingredients to guests.

Happy Christmas all, see you after.

I've never heard of bourbon in there before - i thought it was usually rum.

Keep in mind that egg nog is RIDICULOUSLY fattening (as you gulp down your 5th glass).

I had a holiday party a few years ago and people didn't drink as much as I thought they would - i had a LOT left over. Definitely know your audience to avoid too much leftover too.

IMO, Bourbon is a better choice for eggnog over rum. Heaven Hill is great if you can find it.
