meet our son

just found out today the baby will be a boy. this is really cool. i didn't care what sex the baby was, as long as they were healthy. luckily i can report that both mom and baby are very healthy. this is my first kid. a daughter would have been great, and i was looking forward to that for some reason, but a son is great as well. i will support him in whatever he wants to do, although i would prefer it's music and the arts over sports. took the day off work and went to the doctor with my wife. then we went to babies r us to register for the baby shower in march. after that was lunch at portillos. then i went to another orthopedic surgeon, and although my other ankle has a torn tendon now....i don't need surgery quite yet. i can put it off. this is great news! it was a good day.

Luke Anthony Rotter will be joining us around May 15th.

Congratulations! I'm in the same boat as you, my wife and I are expecting our first at the end of April/Early May.

congrats man! that's cool. i guess we will be getting less sleep soon. i was there when my nephew was born 1.5 years ago...man time flies. i have seen him through all the stages....of course not like my brother and sister-in-law have. this makes me think of the circle of life, that someday, God-willing, my son will be in the same boat as we are now, and we will be old men. then, God-willing, i will be alive to see my grandchildren born when my son is older. this is odd, in a good way. and to think, if my grandparents never would have met at that party during winter many years ago......none of this would be happening now. my grandmother insisted on staying home...she was tired and it was too cold out. her friends forced her out of the house on a late cold night but she wanted to stay home. she met my grandfather there. and to my dad....who told my mom.....come on.....just dinner.......it's not like we're going to get married or anything. a year later they were married and then there i was, 5 years after that. life's pathways......

Congrats shred! My baby boy was just born on nov. 30th, so I can definitely relate. I was so ecstatic when I found out we were having a boy because that meant that I wasn't going to be playing skirt patrol.

So, your baby boy is 21 weeks eh? If you haven't started to get his room ready, I'd get cranking right now because the time is literally going to fly for both of you guys.

Let me know if you need some tips to carry you through the pregnancy from your end.

P.S.: Get all your guitar playing time out of the way before he comes because it'll be at least a couple of months before you can even look at a guitar, unfortunately.
