At work to day I asked around 12 people what is the first thing that comes into their minds when they hear the name Michael Jackson.

All of the women said Great Entertainer.

EVERY MALE said Child Molestor.

I am not the person who left his legacy, he did.

nicely said. he was a favorite of mine. even though he had weirdo instances and may or may not have done the molestation thing, i look at him for what he became. an outstanding accomplishment, especially coming from nothing. i always wanted to have him come out with a rocker album that jammed. imagine beat it and dirty diana but more raw on all tracks. RIP Michael.

Re: Michael Jackson heart attack?

MJ is the reason prodigy musicians have to die young. I mean, all that creativity starts coming out in weird and other undesirable ways. That's the unfortunate part of his legacy, it's got the rediculous success in the pop scene and then the awful fallout of his (at best) poor judgement with kids, (at worst) child molestation. While not a big MJ fan, I respect his music, I defy anyone to say that his songs weren't catchy, not to mention instantly recognizable. I also respect the influence he had on the music industry and musicians in general. RIP

Re: Michael Jackson heart attack?

Personal life aside, I was thinking that his musical output was beyond reproach. Then I reallised that prior to MJ pop artists were not expected to perform elaborate dance routines in every video and concert. Now every pop artist has to have backup dancers and perform finely choreographed danced for their gigs. So much so that some concentrate on the dancing in detrement to the vocal performance, not a criticism you could make of MJ!
I sometimes think this is a bit of a shame, not that it's his fault...

Musically he was very influential but it was the worst kind of music.
I'm hoping he has some kind of interesting will. Like maybe we will see him burried in a toy box wearing a mermaid costume.

I don't care for how he lived his life in the press, but I am ashamed by some of the horrible jokes I heard today.

Well, I do care if he assulted kids. IMO, I don't think he did. I think it was a bad and maybe inappropriate situation that he paid to get out of. He was an odd man, no question. But so is everyone in their own way. The reason why you hear so many bad jokes is because most people are not intelligent and have no class. And, it makes them feel better about themselves to make fun of other people. Most of my friends unfortunately, yes, I made some bad choices in my life, lol.

Re: Michael Jackson heart attack?

What he gave to the world out ways his child molestion? He gave music. Sure lots of it that lots of people consider to be some of the best music ever. But it's still just music.

If he had have cured cancer or aids or something that might (might!) out weigh the fact that he was a baby raping monster. There is no excuse for that whatsoever. Period.

It's like saying, "Hey, Hilter pulled Germany out of the depression so all those jews, blacks, ***s, gyspies and asians he killed don't matter."

I don't care about the drug use or his general wierdness. That's personal. Raping kids is not. It is not okay and it is not forgiveable.

Of course that's just my opinion...

So you're saying that he should be remembered as a child molester and not the king of pop that he was? That's a bit pessimistic don't you think?
