I have the 1G version, 42 hours on 1 AA battery, and the unit isn't much bigger. It also has a display, so you can pick what you are listening to, can't do that on the iPod Shuffle. It also has FM and recording capabilities including FM and line-in stereo recording, not just voice. I also use the sleep function all the time.

Hard to beat,
Roger

I find the lack of a screen to be advantage. I turn the unit on, hit one button and the music starts. No sifting through multiple tiers of folders, artists, albums, etc. and being indecisive on what I want to listen to.

Re: Mp3 Players Discussion

just thought i would share that i hate i pod nanos.......they are a rip off! you could pay $50 more and get 4x the memory. ANYWAYS I have nice san disk or something like that and i like it alot. I don't ever use it though. i only listen to it so i can listen to jason becker when i'm not home cause i don't have a credit card and the only place i can get his cd's are online so i have to take the mp3 player for good ol jason. Other wise i just use a cd player though.

The music starts when I start mine up too, but I have the option. It's all ice cream, but I like to know what is playing, especially if I have songs I'm listening to because I have to learn them.
