Must See/Do In Dallas, TX

Hey folks,
Some point this year I'll be taking a vacation to Dallas. No clue when, could easily be October. I know it's a while away, but I figured I would get ideas of anything that is worthwhile and maybe I could adjust timing in case there is an event that only takes place during Summer.

I'm leaving this thread wide-open. It will probably be a <1 week trip and I'll probably be downtown somewhere, but will plan on having a car. Just throw out ANYTHING worth doing, seeing, eating, whatever. I'm looking at everything from fine dining to shopping, to JFK conspiracy museums to modern art to even a Cowboys game.

Have dinner at Texas de Brazil.
Then go to The Stockyard in Ft. Worth.

If you want to play golf, make a day trip to a place called The Cliffs Resort, about 1-1/2 Hour from Dallas it is absolutely beautiful. They will rent you some clubs.

Jay
If you dig Greek food, check out Strato's Greek Taverna. Monday and Tuesday nights, all food is half price. Even at full price, this place is off the hook. Belly dancing on Thursdays, and $3.00 u-call-its all week long.

If you don't enjoy, dinner's on me!

We have plenty of time so more later!

Re: Must See/Do In Dallas, TX

aww man, there is alot to do in Dallas....i just can't think of any right now

My sister lives in dallas, and tricked me in to going in a G@y ice cream shop...that was not cool

There is a theme park, Fiesta Texas, i guess that was cool if you like theme parks, but I didn't enjoy it very much.

i dunno, if you are the outdoors type, I think it was called Katy or Katie Trail....that was pretty cool

For sushi, check out Kenichi. And I went to a place called Fireside Pies, and they had some badass pizza. I also went to a french place, i believe it was called LaDuni, that was really good.

The Malls in Dallas are amazing too. Dallas Skyline is really nice.

I know i am missing a whole lot

Zoo Music has a TON of used gear. Lots of Marshall stuff, and the occasional Ibanez. Not many collector items, tho. Hit the Dallas Guitar Show next weekend for a really good time.

Check out the West End section of downtown, or if you want to get a little sketchy, Deep Ellum. Lots of live music in both areas on the weekends. Check far enough ahead of time and you might catch Andy Timmons at a local gig.

I don't think TX is renowned for its great pizza...

Re: Must See/Do In Dallas, TX

I used to go to Dallas for work. Personally I found it very boring. There was a cheesy ride that you could take through Deeley Plaza in a limo replica of JFK's where they play gunshots through the speakers!!! Capitalism at it's best!!
