My beloved Conan has passed on

It's been over a week now, but I couldn't bring myself to write about it before now. Only posting this because I got so many compliments from you guys in the post pics of your pets thread.

He had a pretty sudden case of kidney failure. He was still quite young.

sucks dude, Ive seen the passing of many *****cats through heart attacks / getting run over etc and it always sucks

That's too bad.....

it's amazing how attached we get to the things/animals/people in our lives only to realize it's all just temporary. Anyway, sorry to hear the bad news, my condolences..... we have five cats (one is a polydactyl cat or Hemingway cat) and two dogs. Two of the cats are night prowlers and will disappear for days. About the time we get really worried, they come home only to be "showered" with attention. I think they know it too....

Got to love them!

Sorry to hear about that. I don't have any pets at the moment. I moved on to kids but I still miss my old Mau. Here's one of my favorite pics of her getting a very rare bath. She was rescued from the streets of Baltimore and appeared to have had a rough time of it but she was tough. I nicknamed her SuperMau (hence my screen name). RIP

Thanks everyone. Yes - we do seem to get VERY attached to our animals don't we. It's like a special freind relationship. Kind of different than relationships with other humans. Yeah, it's pretty hard. Just gotta realize they won't be around forever and enjoy the time with them. Doesn't make me feel any better though cuz it was a surprise and he went before his time. I've lost both my cats now within a few month of each other. I think I'm gonna take a break from pets / animals for a while.

Sorry to hear this sad news man. Everytime someone close to me passes away, I tell myself he or she is now a star among other stars in sky. Might sound silly but and it kinda helps...
