My new lodger, another piccy thread? Yea!!


i opened my front door this morning and was confronted by this guy (or gal).. stretched across the porch... it was at face height, hmmmm, glad i spotted him in time.. my kids had to limbo under it to get to school..

Looks quite similar to the 7-legged spider that's been living in my room for the past two weeks or so...

answers are, 1) a big one, and 2) a big one..
seriously, its a common all garden house spider, and the camera is a nikon d200 w/ a 105mm macro lens..

There's friggin' loads of these spiders around at the moment, especially in my house. They suddenly appeared when the weather got drier.

I don't know how he lost that leg. Doesn't seem to bother him though, he's been busy making various webs around the room. Some have been pretty mental, like stretching a good two metres from the TV to the windowcill! My venus flytrap gets most of the fly action though. Needless to say, I don't have many problems with flies in here

I didn't even notice he had seven legs until my girlfriend pointed it out, and I had been taking pictures of it all evening! I guess I'm not too observant...

It's September - I've noticed that the little boogers always try to get into the house around this time.

LOL!! I'm not scared of spiders at all. I used to have a pet tarantula when I was a kid and let it crawl all over me! But c0ckroaches FREAK ME OUT!!! I hate them with a passion! EWWWWWWWW
