networking computers

hey guys, i run a photo development lab and i have an external pc hooked up to it which has photoshop installed to let me edit photos on it.

about a week ago i got a mean nasty virus from someones photo card that required that the computer had to be completely reinstalled so i lost all of programs i had on the pc. now naturally i had my hard copies of the software to reinstall photoshop but for the life of me i cant figure out how to set up my external pc to the photo machine as an external folder again (the folder
on the pc was called R2, and the photo machine R1).

can anybody give me a hint as to how to do this? , i have a vague idea it involves mapping a network drive but i dont know how to do this in xp..

any help would be appreciated

Re: networking computers

In windows explorer goto network places and find what you want to map.
Then just right click and select map network drive.

Another great reason why you should Ghost your HD. This basically makes a mirror image of your current HD which has everything on it, and when it crashes, you just install the Image and your back to exactly how everything was... and only takes 15 to 20 mins. Much quicker than formatting and installing win xp and all its drivers etc....
