New computer build advice

My daughter has expressed an interest in building a pc. I figure it will be a fun experience for us and we are do for an upgrade anyway.
So I'm looking for a "best bang for my buck" kind of deal. This will be used for casual gaming, photo and video editing, internet, movie watching etc. Just an all purpose desktop pc that can play games as well.

This is the shopping cart I have picked out so far. I also have a 120gb SSD that I will be bringing from my old desktop.

Is this the best bang for my buck? Am I paying too much? Any problematic items in the list I should avoid?

Keep in mind these are Canadian prices, probably 25-30% higher than US prices.

Thanks for your help.

Not for anything, but if your still looking around at parts I'd lean toward EVGA MB's and GPU's. Their priced competitively but come with a REAL LIFE lifetime warranty. They just replaced my nVidia 750i FTW motherboard that's 7 years old. I paid zero dollars for the replacement. Their customer service is second to none. When you call- you talk to a real person.......sadly, I haven't had the same experience with Asus. I have one of their POS win8 laptops/paperweights/boat anchors.
