I don't think anyone can or should blame one person. If you look at history every great society has crumbled under the same problems we face today. Use the Roman Empire for example. (Many things that lead to there fall):
Decline in Morals and Values,Public Health,Political Corruption,Unemployment,Inflation,Urban decay,Military Spending.
