It's very very very good having and adm with your mind.
We share the same opinions about that.

In my lifetime I can only recall a string of presidents unworthy of the position... a combination of stubborn, stupid, out of touch, uncaring or whatever... each with a major personality defect unfit to lead our great country.

Nixon. Impeached criminal, liar & of course War Monger.

Ford. not elected, typical politican pardoned his friend (nixon).

Carter. Wet dishrag who bent over for OPEC and couldn't figure out which helicopters to use to rescue hostages.

Reagan. Hollywood buffoon who delegated away everything while sleeping thru staff meetings. His era of hands off gluttony ended last night. Finally.

Bush1. Ultimate out of touch flip-flopper, and proud of it. "read my lips no new taxes". Went to Kmart and didn't know what a bar scanner was at checkout. Didn't have the sense to pretend he did.

Clinton. Slick willie, charasmatic hick and charter member of "good ole boys network" with sex addictions & zero accountability of staff.

Bush2. War criminal, megalomaniac & terrorist

Besting this collection is not a large feat. That said we all should expect much more from Barack ...glen

I hope you are right, but I think people underestimate the builder of the great society: LBJ.

He had a similarly large majority in House and Senate so basically all of his plans came through, such a shame though that he had to get involved in Vietnam. Many of his social schemes are still in existence (education, medicare, medicaid, NEA, NHTSA, PBS, consumer and environmental protection, etc.) Also, the positive effects of the war on poverty and civil rights acts are still felt.

Well respected on both sides, his pardon wasn't great in retrospect, but very necesssary at the time (to heal the country)

Too much of a realist in bad times, which made him look like a pessimist, he could've done so much better. Ousted by a dirty campaign fought by a completely new set of crooks (Lee Atwater = pure evil)

If not, clarify who you think is pulling the strings, it's not the military-industrial complex, or big oil, if anyone is pulling his strings, it's Michelle

BTW It's Hussein, or Husayn or little Hasan which means the beautiful, but Barack H. Obama sounds more presidential.

EDIT, just watched Condy speek about Obama's win with a seemingly elated attitude and, like Bush W. earlier today, quoting Obama's "Towards a More Perfect Union".

Well, I mean, you know he has a point - when you have the same name as somebody, you obviously follow their footsteps exactly.

Some of us are old enough to add

JFK - we all know he'd be on Mt. Rushmore if they started hacking again.

LBJ - Who except for alot of popular conspiracy theorists pinning him as the green light to the JFK assassination, and subsequent "police action" [Vietnam, a war?! ] did a huge amount of good for this country. And since I got to shake his hand at the Hollybush Summit, he was always a hero of mine

Geez, I hope this was a joke.

That's pretty crazy reasoning to say everyone that shares the same last name all act alike.

How many people in the U.S. have the name 'Smith'? Do they all act alike?

If it was a joke, please disregard my response.

Re: Obama - Officially next preident of the USA.

I'm soooooo happy!!

I feel really good. I donated a lot and did a lot of volunteering. It's been a turbulent and interesting ride. I never been this politically motivated before, kinda new to it all. But after 8 really bad years, I felt like I had to do my part. I learned a lot and gained a lot of new friends in the process. I feel proud.

If people doubt Obama's ability and character, at least look at he how has run his campaign, completely flawless, diginified, and respectable. Hillary and McCain tried to break him and bait him, but his temperment and calmness just made his opponents and their supporters look small and immature.

Haha, it was certainly a joke. You actually made my point better than I did.

This is a wonderful time to be alive.

Johnson / Kosygin Summit, Hollybush, Glassboro, NJ, 1967.

Hollybush was litteraly 2 blocks from my house. He flew up in Marine 1, landed right on the grounds. After the Summit he walked the fenceline [there was a LOT of "spectators" trying to just get a look at him, this is big stuff for Glassboro!] shaking hands and I was one of the lucky ones. I was small, but he was a BIG man with BIG hands. At least that's the impression in memory.

I got to slap box with Mohamed Ali right around that time, but that's for another thread

Also, this should put to bed (or prove correct) the rumours that Bin Laden is physically ailing or even dead. I'm sure a tape will surface sooner or later and you can guarantee that if he IS alive then it'll most definitely be aimed at the new president. Obviously Bin Laden isn't the be-all/end-all of terrorism but hopefully you get my point.

Like I say, this isn't me being cynical, I just hope that U.S. citizens don't become complacent for a second.
I won't live in fear, and I don't recommend that any of my fellow Americans (or fellow humans, for that matter) live in fear either.

If a terrorist attack happened soon, granted that this terrorism stuff is anything more than a scam, we could either be in fear leading up to it, or be strong leading up to it. Your choice, people. Let's not think about these things though - its been proven (and makes all too much sense) that large scale positivity has more benefits to the entire planet than would usually be considered possible.
