No, but to insinuate that because I'm not American that I can't get experience or get a feel for terrorism is a pretty ignorant remark to make. And again, I think there is a world of difference between living in fear and being ignorant to the possibilty of an attack.

I agree with you on a lot of things but I can't agree on you with this one I'm afraid

Just look at the past. It is natural for our enemies (including terrorists) to test our new presidents. All I'm saying is that an attack within the next year certainly wouldn't come as a big shock to me. It has nothing to do with living in fear...

I hope it doesn't happen. However, if it does I hope we flatten whatever country it comes from or that harbors those to will do it.

I'm not the admin, but I will say this:

You can in no way prove that "enemies" of ours test new presidents shortly after an election, even with examples of events that seem to be just that. You can in NO way prove that. So I would like to see this thread continue to be about Barack Obama, instead of terrorists... because, granted that these terrorist regimes are and ever actually were a threat, us taking precaution because of their existence just supports their reason for existing. It's the whole point to be afraid.

please don't put words in my mouth.

you can't get a FEEL for what it is like here in the USA. where i'm saying there is no fear whatsoever. anything is possible, even probable but there is no "fear" as it's being handled the best it can given the limits of reality.

you were posting about fear of an attack as a warning to obama which obviously would be in America. if an actual terrorist organization attacks France or Spain or Russia or England that doesn't send Obama (or any american president) any message ...glen

i don't agree it's natural or commonplace to test our new presidents. that has not been established, it's just speculation and perpaps one totally based on irrational fear or emotions.

also an attack in July or would not have been a surprise... or tomorrow even. lets get real it's total speculation based on nothing. just what a terrorist would want actually ... glen

I believe time will show yesterday's election to be one of the most important events in US history. The amount of optimism i have seen in the last 24 hours is inspiring.
Our new president faces some tough problems- here's hoping he can make at least some progress in cleaning up the mess that is being left to him.

Of course you can't "prove" it. It's just that I personally think that an attack would be more likely here in the next year. If something were to happen (God forbid), I have all the confidence in the world that Barack's administration will aptly handle it.

Who all do you guys think will be part of his cabinet?

The roundabout point I was making is if we are "attacked" again that we don't half-ass it again when we strike back. That if we are forced to strike back that we do it in such a manner that others might have a second thought about thier own existance.

I'm thrilled that Barack won. My girl and I were really pushing for him. I'm also extremely proud we have out first African American President Elect.

But....

IMO, the honeymoon period ended at 7 AM this morning.
We have serious problems and we need to get to work repairing the damage....all of us... together!

There won't even be an inkling of light at the end of the tunnel well into next year economically.
We still have two wars going. Osama is still out there. Seven years later, it's time to catch his a$$!
Lots of stuff to fix! Time to get fixing it!

God Bless America!

Finally a president that I can truly respect and admire. For once I don't feel ashamed to live in my country. I just hope that nothing happens to him. There's a lot of angry racists out there.

BO makes you feel like things will change, but on the flip side it was reported he spent $300,000,000 on the election, and how can you do that without pandering to special interest and big lobbyists. Hopefully his ideals won't be clouded by the political debt he already owes.
