Wouldn't really surprise me to see Jones do something stupid and try to
grab a "big name" coach.........Bill Cowher maybe?

why would hiring Cowher be stupid for any team? i'm not saying he's the greatest coach ever but listen to yourself. LOL... glen

Re: Patriots haters....bring it on!!
Jerry Jones already said Wade Phillips is the head coach. I think he's staying, which is a shame because he's a goof ball. They made more mistakes and beat thierselves. 12 Pro Bowlers shouldn't loose to the wild card at home. Phillips has a history of blowing it in the playoffs.

Re: Patriots haters....bring it on!!
Jerry Jones likes Wade because he can assert his authority and try to look like a football guy, which he is clearly not. Wade offers no resistance. JJ is a great salesman but a terrible GM. Lets hope he fears losing Jason G. who is interviewing with BAL. I think losing his entire coaching staff (sporano is going to MIA, the WR coach is leaving too) might shock him into action. Plus the guy talks out of both sides of his mouth

I'm not saying Cowher would necessarily be a stupid move for ANY team.....
just,in this case Dallas. They'd be better off promoting from within in this
case Garrett. But knowing JJ's MO.....the urge to make a big splash and
hiring a big name coach wouldn't surprise me. In fact,I think he might be
dumb enough to consider bringing in Pete Carroll.......that there would be a
recipe for disaster for sure. Garrett's the best option for them though,
considering the fact he's intimately familiar with the nucleus of the team.

So what does he do? He deletes my post and sends me a PM that said...
"Step off on this one" Well I responded, but no reply.....yet.
So I know there's alot of hate for the Pats.....based entirely in pure
jealousy IMO. I submit that this is the greatest franchise in the history
of the game.....from top to bottom. On the field on the sidelines and in
the front office.
Opinions..............?
18-1, eeewwwww, how does that feel now! That hurts! What a waste of a great season! I think Bellichek might have to be put on suicide watch! Mmmm too bad, well there is always next year! If I was Brady I'd hop a plane with Giselle to some nice island and throw a couple back and have her attend to my every need. But they will probably be back next year.
The greatest franchise in NFL history, not quite, I submit that, not yet! After they win 4, come back with that.

Re: Patriots haters....bring it on!!
Pats definitely didnt look like they wanted to win that game. Next year might be rough as the defense is due for an overhaul and probably a few retirements (Harrison, Seau, Bruschi to name a few). Was a really boring game up until the 4th.

Boring? Boring would have been a blowout! BTW weren't you expecting one there Jay?
I think defensive games are the best. Let's face it NE got a little surprise tonight!
Guess old Don Shula can crack another bottle of fine champagne! Bet it will taste good!
Poor "BeliCHEAT".... what a sorry loser, couldn't even wait for the last play before heading off the field! Now that's a class act!
Let me guess the excuse though..... he'd already congratulated Coughlin? What about hanging there for the NE players who had to march out there for the last play?
I like that though....."didn't look like they wanted to win", there's a classic losers statement! You gotta give Eli, Steve Smith, and David Tyree some credit.... they did a good job along with the defense!

I understand that the '72 Dolphins went undefeated. But, the Patriots went 18-0, they beat their record but of course didn't complete a perfect season! I undestand that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But they still beat their record and would have killed the '72 dolphins! The '72 Dolphins had a good running game, they couldn't compete with the fire power of Moss\Brady. It would have been like 56 to 21 Patriots!

^^ don't be clueless.
plus you can't compare teams from the 70s to ones 3 decades later.
nevermind the dolphins did have a potent pass attack for the day (i doubt you even saw or knew the team however)
moss did squat this playoff run... glen

Not clueless!
You are right, it is hard to compare teams from different eras!
I didn't know of them, in '72 I was 1 yr. old. But because of statistics and websites we know what they did. How old were you Glen (football genius)? Doing what the Patriots did this year is unheard of in a salary cap era, the Dolphins would have been like (Moss) how can he run so fast and (Brady) how does he do that?!?!??!

Re: Patriots haters....bring it on!!
google warfield, kick, czonka, morris.
it's mind boggling how defensive you guys become when you are not even reasonably informed. jeezuz.
what the Pats did is just choke away a title with a star-studded team that was handed to them in many ways by ineptitude of other teams (welker courtesy of the fins, moss courtesy of the inept al davis).
Brady to Moss is 0-1 in superbowls, get over it. ...glen

I don't have anything against defensive games. I happen to like good defense. I say boring as a Pats fan, because even before the hits on Brady started piling up, that was a different team. They came straight out into sissy mode on offense. There were no aggressive plays, they skipped the no-huddle aside for the end of the half and the 2nd last drive (where they cruised down the field and had the TD to Moss). They came out like they were looking to dump the ball off to Welker and run all night. I can think of 3 plays where, 2 months ago, they would've thrown on 3rd and short and gone for it on 4th if that didn't work. Instead, they ended up punting on 4th and short from inside Giants territory. That's not the team I watched all year. Even in games where Brady was under fire (Ravens, Eagles, Colts), they still spread the ball out and did WR screens and other quick passes to soften up the defense and started going deep again. There was no attempt at any of this. It's like they just said "well, the Giants are going to kill us with their D-line and we're just going to take it." The Pats offense just sucked and looked like the 2006 team all night.
