That's what they get for cheating. Payback time. The Giants defense deserves a lot of credit. They had Brady rattled all night.

Hells yes, the Giants D deserves lots of credit!
A part of me would have like to see the Pats win sos I don't have to hear about the "Perfect Season" down here anymore from Fins fans. That was 36 years ago! Still, I'm happy for the TEAM that the record is preseved, if that makes any sense. Those guys are hard-nosed and many do well to this day by the community.
I'm a Niners fan anyway so life has been sucking for the last decade anyway. LOL!

Re: Patriots haters....bring it on!!

what a great game, staying up until 5:00am was worth it

I don't hate the Patriots, but I'm glad NYG won it. Dunno why but I just do.

But I really do think Brady was in no condition to play this game. I didn't follow his injury story at all, but it was quite clear he only played up to his own level for about one quarter.

Absolutely! Those who don't handle the ball don't get their fair share of credit in this team sport.

I don't really care who wins or loses anymore; I just want to see a well-played game. And what a great game of football last night, huh?

When I was a child, I lived in Florida and was a Dolphins fan, so I am happy for that kid that the '72 Dolphins are still the only undefeated team in NFL history.

There were no aggressive plays, they skipped the no-huddle aside for the end of the half and the 2nd last drive (where they cruised down the field and had the TD to Moss).
Jay.... did you really watch the game? The Brady/Moss TD was due to a player tripping up and falling. There isn't a QB/receiver combination who couldn't have scored that TD. Oh and the "hits" as you say.... started as soon as NE got the ball!

As far as running the ball "all night" as you put it...... there were only 16 attempts based on the stats I've seen. 26 attempts by NY! You call that running the ball all night? Jeez..... any good team knows you have to mix it up and use what's working to hopefully adjust and open up what's not. What else were they going to do when Brady was pressured so heavily anyway.

Welker had 11 catches for 103 YRD's..... reason? He managed to get open, wasn't double covered, not to mention his speed. (you know.... those short quick passes you seem to think never occurred) Brady threw 29 completions.... That included short passes to Maroney & Faulk also, enough for any other QB to win a game. Manning completed just 19 to seal the deal. And that included throwing a Int. too.

Again I ask were we even watching the same game? I recall a 4th down or two were your team totally failed! And just what do you consider 3rd and short??? Come on now have you even looked at the play by play stats yet?

First quarter only had two possessions/drives! A super bowl record low! Reason? NY chewed up the clock.... (9:59 to be exact) Can you say ball control? Balanced offense of both runs and passes? Time management? Didn't that tell you anything? Or was your head still lost in the dream of having a perfect season?

The Pats offense just sucked and looked like the 2006 team all night.
Here.... you need to study the play by play!

http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/playby...&override=true

Brady & co. tried several screens only to fail! But you finally spoke some truth there..... NE sucked! And not just offensively! They never really rattled Eli. Something even NY fans feared!

I loved the Brady/BeliCHEAT post game excuse..... "They made some plays, we made some plays. They just made a few more."

Hmm.... NE made 69 plays to NY only needing 63 to seal the deal.

Even Moss said in a post game interview.... said they hadn't seen that kind of intensity from an opponent all year! Now there's a man who deals in reality, not excuses!

Let's face it the NY defense had Brady laying on his back like a cheap prostitute most of the game. And if he didn't have his face buried in a "earthen pillow", he was bobbing and weaving for his life..... Yep, healthy ankle (I mean busted up... yeah right!) and all. Speaking of busted up ankle.... he managed to scramble around that pocket a lot even though it didn't help much when a freight train was coming!

Face it Burress was more banged up than your QB but managed to do his job. But that will surely be used as some excuse eventually!

Just face it.... the great Patriots didn't lose this game! The simply got beat, and in all aspects of the game!

I'd ask if you need some cheese with that whine.... but you're already trying to cut some!

Re: Patriots haters....bring it on!!

wow, that was really too long of a post. Like I said, Brady and company played some stupid football. I could pull up plenty of drives and replays to argue my point but it is senseless. Giants defense played the game of their lives but even so, I question the playcaling and heart of the Pats.

Anyway, don't know where you get the whining thing from... seems like a fairly arrogant and silly statement. I'm not once trying to argue that the Pats were cheated or that they ever deserved to win. They aren't even "my team," tha would be the Packers.

Jay..... if your first few sentences I quoted don't sound like a whine, well guess I just don't know one then!

Packers fan? Oh no, you and my son are alike. Favre was good but he's ready for the proverbial rocking chair. I wonder when we'll hear something about him making a decision on retirement?

He did a good enough job this year..... but he needs to leave the game while he's still got some creditability and dignity left!

BTW.... Didn't realize I might be dealing with short attention spans here! Sorry for the "long" post!

I don't see either the Pats or the Giants making it again next year The Pats will have wholesale changes (especially on D) and Peytons lil bro needs a couple more years to come into his own

Oh....and the Packers will be lucky to even make the playoffs

Re: Patriots haters....bring it on!!

I thought the Patriots themselves said all the right things after the game. The were likely all in severe shock , but they did come off as a very classy bunch of guys. I've got no hate at all for the Pats, but this was a great Giant win. I thought the Green Bay win was a great one, but this one was just above and beyond. That said, I'm sure the Pats will have a fantastic regular season next year as well, and will be right back in the top seed slot for next year's playoffs.

Eli's there now. Peyton took 6 years to get to the Super Bowl, Eli took 4. Eli won't go back to playing the same way, and defenses won't treat him the same either. If the Giants could trade Shockey for Welker we'd be set! Next season will be totally different for the Giants, but I think they'll do very well. It would be nice to see Giants/Colts in 43
