Why the hell to people own these things???


Neighbors just got one! Only took a day for this

He got out of their yard and got in my forest and was chasing my cat!!

ARRGH! So I grabbed him!

I have a bigger gash in my side that isn't postable because of rules, lol

Scared the hell out outta me! those things are f*ckin MEAN!

He came at me so I kicked him. I think he's got a broken short rib! (I hope)

He ran off when I kicked him back to their yard.

then the owner got pissed and threating to get their clan together against us for f'ing up her dog!! They are gang-bangers!

Should I call the cops?? It will cause problems which we could well handle...but....

i'd file a police report ASAP so that if he bites/attacks again setting into motion a plan for it to be euthanized.

i know many similar instances all of which they failed to file reports and all of which continue to be a problem w/ kids & pets... glen

Talk to the neighbors first and then the local authorities if they don't respond to a civil conversation.

While rehearsing this past weekend two pit bulls killed my drummers GF's cat. The dogs weren't tied up in the back of a pickup truck and you could see the digs of claws in the dirt where they ran from the truck to the cat. The cat never had a chance and the owners said the dogs didn't do it

Freakin' rednecks that don't contain their animals should be flogged.

I would also call the law. This time you were able to fend him off next time someone might not be so lucky. I know you have got alot on your mind. So let me leave with this not all Pitts are bad. I have owned them all my life and never had any problems with them. A dog is only as good as its owner.

I haven't read all the replies, but I was attacked (my dog and I) just last year by an Argentine Dogo, which is of the Mastiff breed. This damn thing weighed about 140lbs. I was on rollerblades with my boxer which is very scared of just about everything. We're rolling along and just ahead of us this Dogo broke free from the handler and charged my dog backing her into some bushes and began attacking.

That's when I jumped on and wrestled it off of her and began chocking the damn thing to death.

I know this from experience - if you don't call the police and animal control NOW, as in TODAY, then it will be your own fault in the future when it attacks again. I was nearly attacked two other times by the same dog and I didn't file a report the first time. Don't make the same mistake I did!

Also, take pictures of the wounds that you have and if you want, go see a doctor to have them checked out. By law, at least here in Florida, the owner is resposible for any medical care that is needed.

Oh, and next time, wrestle it to the ground and choke it until it breathes no more!

Glad it isn't worse Jim, but call the police immediately and report the incident. If the neighbors threatened you with retaliation I would mention that as well. And keep your cat inside.

Yo Jim,

Call animal control and tell them that dog attacked you in YOUR property when you were trying to defend your cat from that dog. Send them the pictures, and telll them you're feeling threatened by the presence of that animal in your neighborhood and that you want them to confiscate it.

Then, take those same pictures, go to the cops, file a police report and tell them what those people said to you and add a few more things in there to make it more believable. Tell them you're feeling threatened by their presence in the neighborhood and that you want a restraining order against them. Also, file a civil suit against them (you should be able to do it for free at your local courthouse). People in NOVA are trying to get those dogs banned because they bring nothing but problems. If that doesn't work, you could always call the Cochran firm in DC.

Although I don't hate those dogs perse, I mean they have a right to live their lives just the same as the rest of us, but I hate what people do to them. I've been in some white trash neighborhoods here and actually have seen with my own two eyes how these people train those dogs for dog fighting and it's disgusting. They beat those dogs to make them so damn mean that they will kill without a second thought. The put blood on a rope and get the dog to attack it and give him the taste for blood, it's horrible. If those guys are gang bangers and have a bunch of pit bulls, you may have to call the cops. I wouldn't be surprised if they're training them dog fighting too.

I'm so sorry you got attacked. I got attacked by a dog when I was a kid and it was terrifying. The damn thing had me on my back and wanted to tear my throat out and if I hadn't punched him in his throat who knows if I'd be alive today.

Ouchee! I know how bad a dog bite hurts. Alot of the time it hurts alot more than it looks.

I love pit bulls though. Blame the owners not the breed.

Last year my beagle got it a fight with another dog and this is what happened when I tried to break them up.

I call the cops right away on those ****suckers. My sister had a chunk of her calf removed by a Pit years ago. Still looks nasty today. Free people shouldn't have to put up with this sht! Go get 'em!

That could have been a little kid getting chased instead of your cat.
