Plane from Hudson River question

Were any animals killed being transported? Do people get their luggage back since it's on shore now?

Re: Plane from Hudson River question

I'm sure if there were animals on board, they didn't make it, as the bottom half of the plane was underwater. As for baggage, I'd wager there will be some sort of compensation either way.

Re: Plane from Hudson River question

There haven't been animals reported to be onboard, so there probably weren't any.

The plane sunk about 20 minutes or so after everyone was off, so the only baggage that anyone would've had a chance of salvaging during the event would be their hand luggage and the stuff in the overhead lockers. The rest would be pretty wet.

On the news this morning, it was stated that the only animals killed were the birds that got sucked into the engine. Apparently a flock of birds got sucked in at around 3000'.

Might be a few unlucky fish with a headache in the river too

Or drunk on aviation fuel

Seriously though.......huge respect to the pilot for getting that thing down without any serious injuries!!! That could've been a massive disaster!!

Landing a beast like that with no engines, that can't be easy!
I'd buy that guy a drink, or maybe a green tea any time if I were on board that plane.
