Practicing Upright Bass in an apartment

Hey guys, I didn't know where to put this thread because there is no bass section. I've been playing upright bass for many years (about 3 or 4 more than guitar) and I have been pretty lazy at practicing since I can pretty much play any song the Philharmonic or school can throw at me. But now I realize my immaturity of using my ear as a crutch to be lazy, so I have been really wanting to practice and apply myself, I have offers from many schools saying they will take me solely because I play upright bass and I love the instrument so why not get as good as I can get on it.

But.... I live in a 3rd story apt with people below me, and I can hear them running around sometimes so I figure they can definitely hear me. What should I do to be able to practice as loud as I want but not get kicked out of my apt

Thanks

You live in Florida? I'd practice outside with the case open Meet some girls, get some singles, win/win situation as long as it isn't raining.

It is always raining here it seems, and if not my bass glue wants to start falling off in this humidity. I think for now I will just screw the neighbors since they are loud anyway lol, but I might stick a lil acoustic foam under my endpin to deaden the vibrations in the floor a little
