Ringtones (NOT spam, lol)

I recently purchased a Motorola V3, cool phone, but i dont like those damn ringtones!
So,i was wondering, is there any site or something where i can write down my own ringtones? And how can i import 'em to my phone?

Can you explain to me what the deal is with ringtones? I guess I am just bitter that such a simple idea has turned into a multi-million dollar industry.

I must be getting old, but there is nothing more annoying to me than to hear "Fur Elise" or the ever so cheesy "Jazzology" ringtones. Those are the free ringtones that come with everyone's phone. But I really don't uinderstand why you'd PAY to get a ringtone for your phone.

As for how to download and get into your phone I have no idea - my phone goes "weedle weedle weedle" when it rings.

That's why I have a midi version of the solo from Building the Church as my ringtone. Everyone loves it .

I hate that you can;t just get a basic ring with any cell phones, luckily my phone let's me make my own. So since I'm possibly the whitest guy in the world, I decided to go with Wu-Tang. It usually gets a laugh, especially from my black co workers.

Funny thing you guys say "why not a simple ring ring" , "why so much complication?"...well, while we are at this point...why not just get a piece of wood with six strings...why you have to spend a lot on a high end guitar and MOD it too?

Yeah thats what I use mp3s of my favorites or just to be weird.
Helps me know whos calling too, since I use different ringtones for people stored on my phone.
