Well like I said if anyone here says it's gonna be a guaranteed roll over

win against the Tribe,they're just being yahoos. I'll say it again,you guys
have a good team there in Cleveland,but not enough yet to get past the
Sox. As for the closers and the save totals......number of saves is a much
less accurate indication of a closer's effectivness than ERA or the WHIP...
walks and hits vs innings pitched. Papelbon just didn't have as many save
opportunities as Borowski did,due to the fact that Boston tended to win
alot of games by a healthy margin. Also,the Redsox were being extremely
cautious with Papelbon all year......never using him more than two games
in a row. Check out the total number of saves the entire staff has....it's
quite a bit more than Papelbon's 37. As for the Yank's lineup being more
potent than Boston's.....it's true. However as you know,good pitching
always beats good hitting. The tribe is taking care of the Yank's (I'm loving
that too) but they're doing it by exploiting New York's pitching,Petitte's
performance excluded.

LOL....point taken Jemmer,but with only 5 (soon to be 4) teams left I
figure there's probably room here for everybody. I was glad to see the
Rockies get this far. I'm suprised the Phils didn't give them a better fight,
they've got alot of offense on that team......just not much pitching.

The series should be interesting this year. If I had to bet the house,
I'd say it'll probably be Sox vs D-backs. Although the Rocks and the
Tribe are both worthy enough to get there. Notice how I exclude the
Yanks? I WAS glad to see the Yanks take one tonight as it'll tax the
Tribe's staff and mess up their rotation when they come into Fenway.

BTW....I'll stop the Patriots related gloating in the baseball thread....lol!!

I haven't heard,but aren't the Indians using a 3 man rotation in the 5 game
series? I would think they'd go with Sabathia in game 4. If I was them I'd
throw my best two starters at the Yanks while they've got their backs to
the wall. If they go with Byrd in game 4 they're making a BIG mistake IMO.
Also,as I mentioned before,Westbrook doesn't exactly put the fear of God
into me. Tonight's performance reinforced that. I'll take Schilling in that
matchup. Did you see him pitch today? Not too shabby for an old man!!
Certainly better than that wide load the Yanks had starting for them tonight.

We got the ~vibe~ and the D-backs are somewhat just riding on earlier success in the season. Just hope all the Captain Morgan showers and week off doesn't throw the Rox out of rhythm.

Well the operative words in the phrase were "if I HAD TO bet the house"
This one could go either way. Looking at it objectively I'd say it would be
more interesting if the Rockies made it,having never been there and all.
But I think Arizona is a bit overlooked....and they have do have home field.

I know what you mean by over celebrating.......I woulda prefered it if the
Sox didn't spray champagne all over the clubhouse today in Anaheim myself.

I think betting on this series is comparable to betting on a coin flip....
pretty much a 50/50 proposition. Although as I said I'd prefer to see
the Rox get in. It should be a good series though.

I just love it when the Yankees get their collective arses beat by my TRIBE or anyone else for that matter. The national media and TBS pissed the entire city of Cleveland off during this series. All they talked about was how the Yankees are so great. None of those douches gave us a chance, and I say "stick it beoatches!!!". Aren't people seriously sick of seeing them play the Redsox during every playoff series??? I know the people in Cleveland sure are tired of hearing about that situation. I'm seriously hoping that the Rockies and Tribe represent in the WS to prove that you don't have to buy your way into the playoffs. Player development and good pitching can take you far these days. I seriously hate them and their fans and media more than Pittsburgh and Michigan. Now that's saying something for a diehard Cleveland homer. GO TRIBE!!!
