Re: Saw a couple of great movies recently (recommend a movie master thread)
Last night during a gig, pub had a big 3D screen, they were showing Tron Legacy.
WOW
I was at the stage and even without 3D glasses, it looked AMAZING.
During our break, I put 3D glasses and...........WOW X 1000!
Seriously I don't wanna play guitar anymore.
Spielberg I'm coming
Hmm I gotta watch Tron

Watched Battleship yesterday. I think I'd rather watch a movie based on Monopoly instead. The acting was absolutely horrendous and the plot very predictable. Only redeeming feature was the action sequences.

+1
Is the same as Independence Day.
They used an old ship to win the war.
Terrible in all levels possible.
I didn't like the action sequences too, boring as hell.
Nothing exciting there.

Think about it:
A SHORT(which is really unusual) sci fi movie which happens 90% inside of a wagon.
Story is so strong and so dynamic, it keeps us tied to the screen.
A great story doesn't need a gazillion crap effects, there are effects but only to help telling a story and not to be the story.
As it's short and dynamic, it grabs and shakes you then let you go without any warning.
I loved it.

Re: Saw a couple of great movies recently (recommend a movie master thread)
What about movies that are in theaters now? The last one I saw was the latest Die Hard movie. I've always like the series but I think they totally phoned this one in. It's like it was done for the sake of releasing another one.
Now if you're talking about dvd's check out Sinister. I thought it was pretty good even though after a while it becomes predictable. And I've told people a million times over to go rent Skyfall. Killer Bond movie.

This is going to sound odd. . . . .
I watched The Passion of The Christ the other day. Wow, real or fake (I'm not going into a religious debate with anyone. You will fail at trying to change my views) I'm amazed any man can get beaten like that. Such insane torture. It blows my mind that that seriously used to be a real type of torture and execution (yeah, that was normal stuff. Jesus wasn't the only one).
Crazy movie.

Yep good movie.
Damien in every minute on this planet there's a person(s) being beaten, raped, tortured and/or killed.
Didn't see that monster who kept his daughter locked in his basement for decades and even had babies with her?Imagine decades of being locked, tortured and raped, compared to her Jesus had just a bad week
What about Hitler torturing and killing millions?
Sadly torture and killing were always a signature of our species

Re: Saw a couple of great movies recently (recommend a movie master thread)
Exorcismus ( 2008 ) - WOW!!!
First I thought another crap movie that shows demons(or whatever you wanna call them) as the dumbest creatures ever, they come and possess a human body then let any priest tie them to a crap weak chair and with "magical" catolic words are sent back to Hell.If a demon is clever enough to get out of Hell and no angel or even God stopped him, how could he be so dumb and powerless?
Well I thought that same stuff will happen again but...............at some point there's a BIG twist of events, a very unexpected thing that made me think about whoever wrote it, in that moment he/she thought "here's where my story will become different from a hundred others and people will wake-up", this to me is called creativety and for this creativity which all others movies don't have, I give 10 to this movie.I was about to sleep or even stop it when that "twist" came and not only woke me up, it made me like it.Thanks to whoever wrote it cause it shows me creativety is not dead and even a story already told a hundred times can bring something different and unexpected.
