Re: So my hardrive

The fact that you bought your mac after your PC means it should run better.

Re: So my hardrive

Why that is horrible news, I am terribly sorry to hear that such a life-moving event like a missing recovery CD happened to such a fine gentleman. Hopefully, with time, your wounds will heal by themselves, as mine have, long ago when my life was cursed to not be able to find the remote control. Best Regards, and good luck to you sir.

Re: So my hardrive

I love windows

I do take alot care about what I install and I never have anything running in the background beside the antivirus and steam if im playing half life 2.

With the P4, most pre built computers had northwood cpus which are really unstable compared to the prescott ones, like having a V8 with bald tyres.

Re: So my hardrive

I don't think there should be a need for a recovery cd. As long as you have a working windows cd, then you should be good to go. The problem with most recovery cd's is that manufacturers tend to bundle up a bunch of useless applications that not only take up space on your hard drive but also run so many processes that can take up a lot of resources that you could put to use for other important tasks.

Run a clean install and you should be better off.
