I've always wondered this since I fist saw Steve Vai's signature logo.

What's the story behind it? Where did it come from? What does it mean?

no seriously, it wasn't entirely your question and definitely not meant as an elitist snub! it was the way the threads read! Just funny. No offence at all intended!! When it comes down to marketing, Mr Vai definitely has his act together. That Vai logo is very slick. vai.com, ultra slick domain... etc. How many innitials that are V. A. I. in the world? must be thousands if not millions. I'd kill for djr.com or ross.com but it aint gonna happen, and I'm not a giant clothes retailer lol. Your question was valid, there's always a subliminal meaning to alot of Vai's handy work.

The origional Vairoglyph is awesome, but now with the globe it looks like someone in their first day of Graphic Arts class slapped it together in photoshop.
