Re: Swine Flu, anyone else had it?

I probably had it in the early 70's, I 've been around it and have not caught it YET!

Re: Swine Flu, anyone else had it?

A friend of my sons just passed away from respiratory problems brought on by swine flu. 26 years old, strong healthy young man with 2 kids. I know it affects different people in different ways but I would say if you suspect you have it you should get checked out for sure. I know the media (duh) has recently reported far greater death tolls than previously released. Not trying to scare anyone, just saying don't take it too lightly. Tom

i've been immunised. best course of action really. lots of scare tactics, but if you have any sort of respiratory/heart/any other condition, its best to get the shot!

What?... Not sure what Mona Lisa's eyebrows have to do with the flu, but...
I'm just getting over the H1N1, that Tamiflu pill kicked it's butt.

Re: Swine Flu, anyone else had it?

I think I had the regular Flu. I feel better today (5th day), still coughing, not a 100%. I haven't been this sick in 10 yrs., maybe once. I don't know if it was Swine or not.

Re: Swine Flu, anyone else had it?

I spent 4 1/2 hours waiting for the shot. I was going to get both the H1N1 and regular flu shots, but only got the H1N1 shot because they were taking too long and there was no one giving the regular shot for some reason.

Then I got sick from the side effects for about 5 days, and was coughing up phlegm for a week straight after that.

Suffice it to say, shots are for stupid people, and I am never going through that again.

This might be a stupid question, but what is the difference between the Swine flu and regular flu? Obviously they are different strains but is there all that much difference when it comes to lethality and symptoms?

My friend had it. He said it just felt like a normal flu. He recovered fine.
