Swirled Lid by ET Guitars

Hey,

Just for giggles we did a swirl on a helmet. We were asked to swirl the racing helmet of a prominent Australian V8 Supercar driver, in his colors of yellow and green primarily, with a bit of black.

Our swirl will be the background upon which the sponsorship logos and some other artwork will be laid. I'll post more pics once the helmet company has completed assembly and their art bits and clearcoat.

Mate that is an awesome swirl, would look fantastic on a guitar. Be cool if you could swirl the car!

Re: Swirled Lid by ET Guitars

LOL, thanks guys.

Its for James Courtney.

He's good friends with the owner of the company who does the helmets. The helmet guy is a mad Ibanez guitar freak, and one of my customers... so thats the connection, they conspired to do a swirled helmet. It will be one of James new helmets for this year, apparently he really digs it so far.

Uh, right in the middle. When done you'll need to lift the visor before sticking your fingers in

Awesome swirl.

Kinda on topic: what's the deal with the sponsorship logos? I read an article where they strongly advised against decals on a helmet as the adhesive could cause a reaction and weaken the integrity of the helmet when knocked - I presume the paint and adhesives are all pretty much inert?

I've been trying to get my friends 10 year old boy to let me swirl his bicycle helmet, but he thinks when you do a swirl you have to use the bright neon colors, which he hates. So I showed him this pic and he's dying to get it done now. LOL. Your helmet looks awesome!
