Re: That one CD...
can't think of anything, as i enjoy most music. the 80's are definately where it's at. wedding singer soundtrack is excellent. my collection is everything from depeche mode to the outfield to greenday to (early) metallica to
miles davis
to blue man group to mozart to techno and trance and of course prog metal. for what it's worth i really liked winger, and still do, mainly the first album. Reb is excellent! i can tell you what bands i would never have a cd of. daughtry and nickelback off the top of my head. no offense but i can't stand either of them.

Besides my occasional foray into disco of the '70s, I also have a small Bluegrass CD collection. Ralph Stanley and Bill Monroe made some of the best music acoustic I've ever heard.

Re: That one CD...
I have some B.B. King and Muddy Waters. It might be a bit odd when they sit next to band like Necrophagist and Cannibal corpse, but I'm sure those guys would respect that, especially Jack Owen since he's always playing Hank Williams tunes :P

Re: That one CD...
I have one or two CDs that were given to me as gifts that are not that great, but I can't really "pass them on" without hurting someone's feelings.
This is particularly true if it's their demo.

In a similar vein, for me it'd have to be Pet Shop Boys and Depeche Mode. I have a few albums of each from their heyday. I don't listen to them much any more though.
But in a more "modern" sense, I will tend to listen to Seal and Moby occasionally. Which contrasts greatly with my mostly Metal diet. LOL

Re: That one CD...
I'm lucky enough to be able to work with my mp3 player on and after lunch today I switched it random. The first two tracks that came out were pretty random as well.
1)Hellyeah - Matter of time
...then
2) Neil Diamond - Evermore
Talk about contrast.

I do that all the time. I have a master playlist on my computer that has just about any song I ever want to listen to. It's got about a hundred hours of music on it. When I put it on random, I get some strange combos myself.
Nothing like going from Nile to Prince in one swoop.

Not so much me, but it usually throws my friends for a loop.
