well its my birthday in a couple of days time and I just got the best pressie EVER - I went to the HOSPITAL..!
Thats right.... and found out that my wife is now officially IN REMISSION
after a year of fighting cancer, enduring 4 operations, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and now HR therapy the consultant reckons there are no traces of the evil disease left.
its been a hell of a year, my wife's heroics have been legendary because we have two young children who are blissfully ignorant of her condition and are as demanding as children will be.
I was working and starting my own business when all this started and she refused to let me drop it, she supported me as I supported her and together we have come a year down the road with little sleep, even less rest and enough stress to... well, you can imagine
So, why am I telling you all this now a year after it happened? - who can tell? if any of you have been through the same thing you will know what its like, everyone bar the closest friends and family gets shut out - all the social activity goes down the drain and everything is geared up to one thing only - getting byand survival.
So - what next - well im going to make a JEM SK replica with a breast cancer inlay on the body and if I can bear to part with it I will sell it in aid of cancer research who can never have enough money!
after that ???
well im going to start putting more time into making guitars and less time into the sh1t in life that dont matter - like careers
I may even think about a band again :O
i know it sounds a strange thing to say but jemsite and guitars (making and playing) have been an oasis in the desert for me over the past year...
anyway - its 5:40pm and im already well and truly celebrating the occasion with a couple of beers
