I've met two girls off the net. After the first, I swore I'd never do it again.
I met my current girlfriend on myspace and we're getting married. I've never gotten along so well with a girl. IMO, there are no fixed rules. Life just happens.
There are some benefits to finding someone on the net. You know before you meet if you have the same interests and values.
On the flip-side, there's lots of misrepresentation on the Internets! Not to mention that it can also be dangerous to meet someone off the net.
Sorry about your ex, spiritinthesky. I had a girl do that to me, minus the internet part. It sucks!

You REALLY have to read the article. Apparently this all started as a soccer team argument while they were all on vacation together in Mexico (coincidentally). The guys wife has now left him and everything. Damn, I guess they got him pretty damn good.
