The mint thread

It's an old saw, but this 'mint', 'near mint', 'would be mint if...' stuff is nonsensical. Here's a proposal:

Descriptions for sellers wishing their gear was mint:

Pavemint Dropped a couple of times.
Peppermint Black spots on it
Debasemint Plays best in drop-D
Spearmint Has obviously been hit by something pointy
Rearrangemint Strung upside down.
Adamint The first guitar ever.
Defacemint Emily the strange sans Emily.

I could go on.....

..... but that wouldn't be fun.

Any more?

Re: The mint thread

Here's my list. I'm pretty proud of these, if I do say so myself! I've seen all of them referenced in auction descriptions:

GovernMINT guitars sold to pay one's taxes
SettleMINT guitars sold to cover one's divorce costs
AllotMINT guitars that you paid way too much for; your loss is the buyer's gain
InterMINT a guitar that will cause your spouse to bury you if you don't sell it and recover some cash
ConcealMINT similar to the above; a guitar that must be sold once your spouse discovers how much you paid for it
PayMINT guitar that must be sold to cover a car/mortgage payment
EnrollMINT guitar that must be sold to pay tuition costs

Re: The mint thread

Okay, this is pathetic... but I thought of more this morning. I'm done after this--promise.

Except for the last one, these are all inspired by auction descriptions I've seen:

DefaceMINT a guitar marred by your pet, child, or fellow band member
BereaveMINT a pristine guitar that you will mourn deeply when it is gone
MerriMENT a guitar that will make the buyer very, very happy

...and my humble tribute to El Cid, who never fails to crack me up. (Seriously, that comment about the Undertaker made me laugh out loud. Classic!)

ExciteMINT a guitar so beautiful that it stiffens your whammy (if you're a guy) or makes your humbuckers all tingly and such (if you're a girl)

Re: The mint thread

EngageMINT - for when your girl says "either the guitars go or I do" you choose wrong and the guitar ends up on the bay..

Re: The mint thread

Funny and clever stuff guys

There are a few that are sure to be classics and describe alot of the 'Bay guitars very well, at least why they are posted there.
