Re: The Photography Thread
For anyone thats new with Photoshop these are the online tutorials I would look for (and there are TONS of them).
1)Adjusting white balanace.
2)Adjusting exposure
3)Adjusting hue and saturation
4)Applying unsharp mask (not too much)
If you can get those things down you'll be in good shape. In my opinion you need to be able to do these things in a program like Photoshop or Lightroom to get reasonably good results.
What I do is open the raw files in photoshop or adobe bridge, then I adjust the white balance first if needed. Next I adjust the exposure if needed. I usually bump up the black level a little as well. Maybe increase or decrease the overall saturation.
Next I apply a little unsharp mask. Sometmies selectively. Only to certain parts of the image. Lastly I save and or resize.
These things are very basic to a lot of us but some users probably have not done this yet and I figure this will be a good starting point.

we nick named him the goat, as he will eat pretty much anything you throw to him apart from orange plastic. Any other plastic is fine but orange has a strange tang or something?

Love the last one. Very cool and the B&W works great for these.
