Re: The Photography Thread
Nice shots Glen. I particularly like the 2nd one. Brilliant capture.
No new shots from me yet. But I do have this teaser. I shot this car today, that's my g/f and I in it. Once the NDA's clear I'll post up proper photos.

Re: The Photography Thread
Any one want to start that little photo project we talked about? Do we just want to set up a list of topics and we vote for the first one?

i use kodakgallery.com (was ofoto) for prints and they do have decent unlimited free albums with no real privacy intrusion. shutterfly is not bad either.
my problem is these services don't accept raw files so you gotta "export" then upload. so now i have redundant files on my local drive in "lightroom", then on a lightroom gallery site i created, then on ofoto to print. Plus RAW (& sidecar file) backups... real PITA.
i really wish to find a better solution myself, one that can use my own server space and/or allow upload of edited RAW files for backup purposes. i have looked into these, but they're geared more toward reselling and the print prices more & less convenient.

lol
BTW, perfect DOF in that emo pic Lethal.
I should hopefully be able to post the photos of the Ferrari up sometime this week. That's one amazing car. So much detail I was literally overwhelmed, and my professionalism suffered, and because the F430 is one of my dream cars I turned into a child in a toy store. The owner was quite accommodating though. Afterwards he mentioned my girlfriend made his day. So it's all good. He got to drive around with a young girl in the passenger seat with everyone looking. Still, my bad...big time.
Oh I also have some photos of my mate's
guitar collection
(I'm guesssing that might be more interesting to everyone here
). But again, I'm waiting on him to post them up, or to give me the go ahead.
...They're all Ibanez's too, 2 of them bought from all the way over there shipped by Rich himself
.

Re: The Photography Thread
I am still having a hell of a time with focus, or it could be camera shake, so I have a lot of work to do.
The funny thing is most all of the pics I too today were with my 50mm, but the seagull pics I changed to the 18-55 kit
lens
that came with my camera. I think it turned out the best. It was a real last second shot, since i forgot to turn the camera on and almost missed it.

Re: The Photography Thread
Whats the deal with these, under exposed and camera shake?
It looks all sci-fi like.

Re: The Photography Thread
Actually over exposed. The really bright part should be viewable, the darker part should be black. And there is lens flare going on as well. Go with an exposure that gives you and almost black photo and bring it up from there.
Your Peggy's Cove photos are nice. You'er definately improving. Go back to the lighthouse at dusk somtime and shoot it again with your tripod.
