Tonight Zeppelin Makes History

Tonight's the big show.

I pray they make a DVD for us poor souls who didn't win a ticket.

Re: Tonight Zeppelin Makes History

They said that they had so much fun in rehearsals that they might do a tour next year... So there is hope...

The tricky part is Jason sounding like Dad...
If it comes off like Zep instead of the way Van Halen sounds with Wolfgang, it might be pretty cool, it's a tough order to fill, no matter who's on drums. Bonzo just hit 'em so hard!

Re: Tonight Zeppelin Makes History

gonna be tough to pull off a full show... toughest act ever to follow... themselves... but should be an entertaining evening for the lucky folks in attendance. The audience will be half kids not born when Zeppelin played and half-deaf younger grandparents

The Plant/Page unledded tour was fantastic so maybe they have some magic left to do another go around with Jason & of course JPJ that would be a great way to put the Zeppelin legacy to rest in regard to playing live... glen

I agree, Jason has to try and fill the impossible...
Hands down, the intro to "When The Levey Beaks" are the best drum
sounds ever recorded imho. I hope the engineers don't over process the
drum sounds and let the drums do the talking like on that song....

Re: Tonight Zeppelin Makes History

Wasn't impressed with the performance and sound in that video. If you listen carefully, there's a huge amount of feed back seeping through. But criticism apart, i still think it's great they made a reunion show. It's nice to see them all on the same stage with their instruments. Jason wasn't too much of an eye sour either, but i just never really took him seriously since his lamo debut sometime in the 80's. All he'd ever do is drop his dad' name in ever interview, talk about how great he is, and have his music videos shot so that they portray him in 3/4's of the scene. Much more than the singer or the lead guitar player. Not that it matters much, but i thought it was sad...

If the BBC had cameras there is more than likely a DVD will be out. I mean... They would make a ton from it.

Yes, and I'm sure Pagey would produce it and do the audio mix - that's where his 'magic' really happens IMHO.
