Re: Tony Jaa....oh my god
Nice. Yeah, he's pretty bad ass. I remember seeing ong bak for the first time and being amazed at the fight sequences and chase scene. The story and characters sucked, but that's pretty typical of those types of action films haha.

Re: Tony Jaa....oh my god
Tony Jaa is simply amazing. Watch Tom Yum Goong, really cool fight sequences, e.g. against the Capoeira-guy in the temple. Tony is a bit like the Vai of martial arts... and traditional Muay Thai is really nasty stuff...

Re: Tony Jaa....oh my god
I just looked on Wkipedia, and surprisingly, he never had any formal martial arts training. He just copied what Bruce, Jackie, and Jet did in the movies he watched. He was in Mortal Kombat as a stunt double.

I have seen ALL of Jackie's movies and even though his stunts are great most of his movies are a bit silly with far too many comical scenes which puts them more in the comedy aisle than in the martial arts aisle at the video store! I think his best (and more serious)martial arts performance was in the newer version of the Druken Master where he played Wong Fei Ho

That is not quite accurate he had been trained in the old styles of Muay Thai
by someone who has made about 60+ action movies in Thailand, his name is
Panna Rittikrai and even though he never got famous outside Thailand the guy is extremely good!!! so he spotted Tony's talent (He was into Gymnastics at that time) and started training him. Since Panna admired Bruce, Jet and Jackie he wanted Tony to stand out and be different so he started teaching him old and rather obscure Muay Thai styles. You can actually see certain kicks, stances and moves that I had not seen before and believe me I have seen most martial arts movies out there known and unknown!!!

Re: Tony Jaa....oh my god
That was a pretty damn good compilation. Love martial arts films.
It's funny I've been trying to rent out some of his movies to watch with the missus but she wont. Thing is any of the martial arts films she's seen she's really enjoyed!
I think it's just that she's not heard of this guy (yet), maybe she'll be more interested once she sees more of him.

when I say earlier years, I mean all the old school 70 B movies that he did when his name wasn't even listed as Jackie Chan, before things got comical.
