Tv repair???

So I have a 52" sony tv. The pic is starting to double on one side and I was wondering if anyone knows if thats an expensive fix. I called the local sears for there service tech and they said for them 2 come out and look its a minimum charge of $150. I dont mind spending a few hundred to fix but I would rather not pay 150 for them 2 tell me its 500 to fix and I'm better off just buying a new one, but I still have to pay the 150. The tv is only 3 years old so Im a touch ticked off at the moment. Thanks for any help in advance.

Re: Tv repair???

What kind of TV is it? Im guessing its a rear projection and the guns are out of sync. If this is the case there should be something in the menu to re-sync them.

I would call Sony first, sears will try to exploit as much money as they can out of you, and Sony would probably just walk you through how to fix it, or what the problem is.

Thats the screen you want, you should be able to adjust them with the volume and channel arrows if I remember right.

Hmmm, it's been a long time since I had any service calls for this. That's where you want to be but I cant remember how to adjust it, check your manual or maybe use the inter-googles and see if how to adjust it is there.
