Un-pimp your ride

I don't know if this is funny to you but I was rolling around on the floor, screaming with laughter!

That new GTI doesn't look like a terrible car... too bad the leather seats forces you to get satelite (which I already subscribe to) and a sunroof (worst option EVER). Damn packages.

Re: Un-pimp your ride

yeah, i've been looking around for a new car for a while, and changing my mind every other day. the new gti is definitely on my short list, despite not being a very "grown-up" car (or perhaps because of that).

leather seats? must-have item.

Re: Un-pimp your ride

Leather seats are actually not a must have item. I have them in my GTI VR6, and they get extremely cold in the winter. Granted, I have heating in the seats, but it takes a while to kick in. I guess they'll also get extremely hot in the summer.

myeh... i feel qualified to make a judgement on that, living in toronto (-30c) and sydney (+40c).

i'd still take leather if only because it's the closest i'll ever come to being over-run by biker babes.

The Golf GTI is a nice car, but still suffers from the "Sloan Ranger" image it has had since the Mk I, a definite yuppie housewife mobile.

It`s the sort of car your girlfriend should have

The R32 on the other hand...

R32's are pretty thin on the ground - i think you're in one of very few places that even gets the new one, jono.

As a Honda fan, I see the same problem with the Integra DC-5 which has never been officially available here. I have a Civic Type-R, but I long for the Integra which is just a little bit tastier, I just can`t bring myself to buy a grey import

Re: Un-pimp your ride

DC-5? is that something like the type-r?

in australia, we get/got the type-r, which was pretty sweet if you're into that. in canada, it's a less hardcore type-s, despite s being after r in the alphabet.

i've driven both the older and more recent type-r, and they are a blast. my old company used to race a lightly modded type-r in a production series. there's no way my wife would let me put my daughter in the back, though!

Type R stands for Racing and S stands for Sport, hence R being more severe.

The DC-5 is the current version of the Integra (like the current version of the Golf is the MK v) and yes I am referring to the Type-R. I was at a meeting in Shizuoka today and there was one in the parking lot so I snapped a few piccies whilst we waited for the Taxi LOL - I:m such a tourist
