Re: What was your first electric guitar?

My first was a 4 pickup Teisco del Rey, and it came with an amp for 25 bucks.

Re: What was your first electric guitar?

My first guitar was out of the Sears catalog. It had an Explorer shape and was called an "Effector" it had built in effects buttons for distortion, phase, chorus and a few others. It was a huge piece of junk but it sure increased my finger strength.

Re: What was your first electric guitar?

I bought mine out of JCPenny in the mid-80's. It was a no-name brand (bo-bo brand as I call it) Steinberg look-a-like, black, tuners on the bridge. It had a humbucker at the bridge position and equiped with a trem...non-floating the best I remember. You could only push the bar down (to do dives). If you could pull it up it wouldn't go up much. Maybe raise the note a 1/8 to 1/4 of a step.

I got it because it looked cool, I couldn't afford an Ibanez I liked and it looked like the guitar that Vito Bratta played, which I was really into at the time.

I paid right around $110 for that POS, but it was decent enough I suppose. I eventually saved up and bought a '90 570 Roadstar.

My first guitar was a thing called an Axe. Basically a starter package with a 0.00001W mini amp I brought off my mate for £50. Really **** guitar, but I still have it

Re: What was your first electric guitar?

My first electric was my Sekova LP copy that my step dad got me used from a pawn shop for my birthday. It was older than God when I got it and I've had it for over 20 years. Here she is....

Re: What was your first electric guitar?

Thats a really, really worn out fretboard! The finish looks in good knick considering how old it is.

yeah, it's a total beater, but I think my step dad only paid like 20 bucks for it at the time. It's got these totally bizarre pickups that sound unlike anything else I've ever heard, but I like them. hehe

OMFG! You brought some memories back. I remember the Axe package. It was awful!

My first electric guitar was a pink Hondo Les Paul copy. Great guitar! I think it even had Dimarzio pickups. I remember buying my first set of strings too. I had no clue about gauges and I ended up with 7's! Urgh... not nice, especially on a 24.75" scale.

I didn't have an amp, so I played through my brother's hifi and somehow blew the speakers up.

Re: What was your first electric guitar?

Not when you get a belt across your backside it ain't.

PS: I also had a cardboard box drumkit, so my brother would play that. Of course, there was no kick drum, so we used to bang our knee on the floor. Funnily enough, we wrote about 15 songs a week in our little punk band, the Reapers of Death! LMAO! I was 9, I think.

My bro still has tapes but he won't give them to me.
