PS: I also had a cardboard box drumkit, so my brother would play that. Of course, there was no kick drum, so we used to bang our knee on the floor. Funnily enough, we wrote about 15 songs a week in our little punk band, the Reapers of Death! LMAO! I was 9, I think.

My bro still has tapes but he won't give them to me.
LOL too cute! hehehe Not the belt, but the rest of it! No pics of you and your brother in your band?

No way! We couldn't afford cameras and stuff. Starving musicians, etc.

Re: What was your first electric guitar?

My first electric was a hot pink Fender HM.

I still have the guitar, although is has been repainted about 6 times now
Also, i scalloped the neck using the wood tools i inherited when my grandfather died.

The guitar always reminds me of Greg Howe...

Re: What was your first electric guitar?

Mine was a Cort Effector from the Sears catalog in 1988. For the life of me, I can not remember if it was an Explorer copy or the Strat copy body style. Anyway, it had buttons on it that gave you really crappy distortion, delay, chorus, and phase. My parents got it for me for Xmas but failed to buy an amp. So, that morning, I rigged a cable to go from the guitar to the stereo mic inputs on a jambox that I had at the time. What a rig! :-)

By that Summer, I had "traded up" for a black Squire Bullet strat. I later added a '69 reissue bridge pickup to that one and kept it for a few months. Then came a white Charvel with EMG's, my first super-strat. Ah, memories!

Yamaha Pac-112. It has been re-worked and passed down to my brother in law but it was and still is to this date one of the best sounding guitars Ive ever played.

Re: What was your first electric guitar?

My first was a red Cort Stratocaster copy. Maple fretboard, bad plywood body. Looked pretty cool, but sounded pretty average. Pickups were as noisy as hell with a little distortion. I got it with a Gorilla practice amp with Chorus and overdrive effects.

Re: What was your first electric guitar?

First guitar was an acoustic made by Magnum, which eventually was smashed to pieces years later in a drunken rage. First electric was a BC Rich Rave, which I still own and love but Ive had to replace the neck 2x because the fretboard keeps lifting at the nut down to the 3rd fret.

Re: What was your first electric guitar?

My first electric I've already mentioned, but my first guitar ever was an acoustic which I still have. My uncle got it for me when I was like 6 or so. It's sitting right in front of me. Name brand is Melody Guitar. There's some Asian writing on it, so he probably picked it up at a flea market or something.

The bridge, funny enough, can slide around so unless you know how to intonate a guitar you'll never be able to get it tuned. I just tuned it up and played a few chords on it. Sounds really crappy, but it's also small and the body is made of very thin plywood. The neck is "steel reinforced" though. Total length isn't but about 33". The scale seems to measure out to 21 3/8".

Re: What was your first electric guitar?

I don't even remember the name of the first guitar I owned. Looked a lot like the Ibanez Jet King. Had the nasty switches and all.

The first "real" guitar I bought was a Memphis. It had a body shape like a Carvin DC___ a pointy Charvel/Jackson style headstock and a double locking trem. It was white with chrome hardware.

Re: What was your first electric guitar?

Mine was a Teisco looking thing with no name on the headstock back in '77. Black to red sunburst with a chrome pickguard. Had 2 slide switches for the pickups, action so high you could drive a truck under it. Kept it for about 6 months then found a black '72 Fender Tele Custom that had been retrofitted with 2 Gibson humbuckers and the Fender case for $150.00 in that same pawn shop.
