Re: What's with the Advertising????

I just a had an event that I have not previously experienced. It was a mid-screed overlaying kind of ad. Not as big as the kind ryc was getting... maybe 300X300. It did close itself after a few seconds, so I didn't get a chance to do a screen cap or take in what it was all about - but the company either had the word "live" or "five" in their name. It wanted me to take a survey.
It didn't seem guitar oriented. In fact, I couldn't tell what it was about at all.
It lasted approximately 10 seconds, but I do have 56K dial-up.

I got that one yesterday. It slowly dropped from the top (center) of the screen until it rested center screen. sat for several seconds until I closed it. I can't remember what the survey was for either, but if I get it again, I'll get a capture.

Still getting these occasionally. Full page pop up for Intel. Just got one a minute ago. When I get them, it's always the same one.

Haha, you probably can't look at ibanezcollector's threads I always shake my head that he puts 56K warnings on them. I think to myself, "Does anyone posting here still have 56K?"

Re: What's with the Advertising????

Whats a sure-fire way to kill a brilliant Internet community? Throw obnoxious ads all over the site.

Alan, I think it would be best to sort this out, and permanently. People don't like ads, especially when they take over their browser window.
