Re: What's everyone do for a living?

I'm a journalist. About 60% of my income is from finance journalism which filters its way through to newspapers all over the world through Dow Jones. The other 40% is from music journalism, including a gear magazine for which I write product reviews and an instructional column.

Up until recently I was doing the finance journalism part time as well as teaching 50 guitar students a week, but with a 10 month old baby at home the teaching was just too tiring and the hours were too late.

I'm a multi-degreed mechanical engineer currently saving the world and making experimental aircraft and WMD.

Here's something we did a few years ago.

I'm one of those damn public servants. I build and administrate online forms for collecting various Government revenue for local Government.

Currently I'm doing what public servants do best, sit on their asses doing nothing, stuck here waiting for our vendor to fix up a damn test server so I can commence some testing for various browser fixes.

Re: What's everyone do for a living?

I work in a machine shop at the fire hydrant capital of the world. My job blows, before I worked in the machine shop I worked in the iron foundary. Hired in when I was 18 and blew my back out when I turned 20. I hate my job, I hate everything about it. I want to save as much money as I can to open my own adult video store. Might sound silly but the money is crazy and I have no moral or ethical problems with selling porno. I am about to get a second job also to help out, since my back surgery I have been having alot of financial problems. I really hate what the situation I have put myself in, but I did it to myself.

Property finance, the commercial kind.

It's more interesting than it sounds.

No, really - it is.

Honestly.
