Re: What's everyone do for a living?

Electrical and software engineer writing software for motor speed controllers (the electronics between human, battery and motor on electrical vehicles like pallet trucks or wheel chairs).

State-of-the-art processors use 16 bit numbers (no floating point) and have about 4 KB RAM... it's like playing guitar with two strings, only every other fret and extremely high action - once you get the knack of it it's fun

Anythin cool you CAN talk about?
I've always been into aeronautical design and technology.
I think there's a NASA logo on that thing. She's probably gone as far as she can! LOL. Just keep your eye's out for people in black suits and oddly shaped sunglasses.

...they're watching us right now

Just as long as Courtney doesn't strap on an adult undergarment and drive cross country to whack one of us out, I think we'll be ok.

That's the X43A, a hypersonic vehicle. Call it a jet for short. You can google "x43a" and read up all about it. It broke a speed record.

Most of the stuff I work on can't be discussed, but I haven't seen any aliens....well....yet anyways.

I can't really talk about anything other than the lastest to be declassified which is the X43A. You can google "experimental aircraft" and you'll see some stuff that's extremely similar to what I'm working on.

But I also work on more than just aircraft. The technology can be applied to aircraft, missiles, anything that needs to be flown at a high rate of speed, i.e. greater than Mach 5.

Right now I'm working on the next version of the X43A - external aero and engine design.

I guess I can mention that I'm working on the next vehicle to take a few people to the moon.

LOL. Well, I don't work for NASA, but I do work with them, and occasionally we get paid by NASA to do some stuff. Most of our money comes from the Air Force, Navy, DOD, and some other 3 letter agencies.

Re: What's everyone do for a living?

Man, that's cool! I've got to sign non-disclousure crap everytime i put my engineering stamp on stuff and we have to sign all this crap saying we won't sell our designs to other companies XYX, but nothing "classified". I've got an engineer on my team that worked for the D.O.D. at L3 designing helicopters and he could get in some serious trouble for talking. He won't even spill a little beans...

Re: What's everyone do for a living?

Well, what I've told you can be easily found on the internet, so no harm done, but otherwise yea, I can't talk about nothin'. The next vehicle to the moon is the Orion Spacecraft, which everyone now knows. It can be easily found using google what company is working on what if you know what to search for.

But the really cool stuff can be found HERE!

You know that those search terms take you to sites like abovetopsecret.com which are chock full of whack jobs that trumpet the end of the world every other week. There is so much in the way of what I guess I would call disinformation, just from guys who can't agree on their last names, much less what technology actually exists, or what was reverse engineered from crashed alien space craft. How about an engineer's Blog for your area?

LOL....uhh, yeaaaaa, I don't think so.

I tell you what though. Look up the aerospace companies that are in the West Palm Beach and southern Florida area, go to their websites, and you'll be able to gather from news releases what's going on.

Currently, I sell building supplies (completely out of character for me really...), but I'm studying Maths through Science in University (so much fun, I actually can't describe it).

Just now, nothing. Just finished my last year of school but in September when I reach the lovely 18 I can start in the local hospital for the mentally ill. That is until I go to uni the year after to do... Something ive not decided on yet.
