What's the good news?

After the recent massacre at Virginia Tech, as well as death and despair all over the world, I thought it might be nice to have a thread where people can post stories or provide links to articles that show the world isn't such a bad place. At the very least, we can post some funny and/or amusing stories and articles.
Who's with me?
I'll get it started...
http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/04/05/mis....ap/index.html
http://www.cnn.com/2007/TECH/science....ap/index.html
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17748997/
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17645539/

And here's an amusing one...

I was starting to think my idea was falling on deaf ears. You're the first to respond since I started the thread.
Oh well, I'm going to keep updating it, even if no one's reading it.

I know! I tried to find an article about the soldiers who give candy to the kids in Iraq, and all I could find were articles about a suicide car bomber who killed 20+ people while the soldiers were handing out candy to the kids.

We still haven't forgotten about your pic FL Native

Jimmy

P.S.: Not to bring back the negative but, apparently the shooter managed to send a package with materials (letters, videos and photos) to NBC News in NY.....

jb, don't start, please. One thread's gotten closed already. I'd like to discuss it, but if Jemsite won't have it, let's respect that.

Sick, great idea. When I need a pick-me-up news story, I go to MSNBC's "Wonderful World" section. Lots of good news here:

Heck yeah, dude. I already got a few from there. Sadly, it's the only news site I found that has a section dedicated to light hearted stories.

Oh, right. Guess I should read carefully the first post in a thread. Whoops.
