Who uses firefox browser?

I used to use Mozilla's slimbrowser, and I liked the new tab auto create feature which automatically creates a new tab when you type a URL in the URL bar, and then clicked enter.

I switched to firefox 3.5 because it was a lot better overall. Does the current version of firefox have this auto tab create?

So many times I was working on a project in a particular tab, and then I needed to visit a website for more info, but when I clicked enter the new site would pop up in my the tab I was currently working in, and this messes up my project because it clears everything I had done on that page, and I have to start over.

I haven't found an auto tab create feature for firefox yet. Does anyone know if this is possible?? I know pressing "ctrl" will open links in a new tab, and "alt" will open up a new tab, but this doesn't always work, and I always don't remember to do this. So I need something that automatically does this so I don't have to think about it when I'm focused on other things

I haven't seen that particular option in Firefox, but you can dig around in the add on list. I searched "Auto Tab" and came up with 229 entries.

FF has some great add-ons aside from what you mentioned.
Auto Pager automatically loads the next page on a site that has many pages, like Jemsite, for instance. You can view a thread in its entirety instead of clicking each page or "next".
That is a cool one. Also one called "Down Them All" for finding links on a page, that you want to DL multiple files or say all entries of an album in a root folder, but the site won't let you DL the root.
LOTS of cool add-ons.

Oh, yeah, Ctrl + T opens a new tab. I also downloaded one called tab counter that tells how many tabs you have open at a given time, for those who have to know how many tabs you have open at a given moment.

Check out Opera. You can duplicate tabs and even make follower tabs where the tab will follow everything you're doing. You've also got the tab trash, where if you close a tab on accident you can click on it and go back to it and it will open in a new tab.

Opera also has mouse gestures where all you do is hold down right click, then you move the mouse up, then let go of the right click. That will open a new tab for you. Sometimes you find a link that you want to open up in a new tab, you go over that link, do the mouse gesture, and it will open the link up in a new tab.

Check it out.

Ever since switching to Windows 7, I've been using Internet Explorer. It integrates itself with system in a way. For instance, you can have multiple tabs running, and when IE is minimized, you can preview each one and go straight to it. Plus I have to work on alot of programs that aren't compatible with Firefox.

Firefox 3.6 Beta has support for aero peek in Win7.

What programs don't support Firefox? I haven't found any yet.

Right click the link, then select open in new tab? Or just download an addon (MANY available).

FireFox is the best browser I've ever used, works great with Winamp through the help of a few plugins too!
Shame that Steam uses damn internet explorer.

Re: Who uses firefox browser?

In Firefox, go to Tools > Options > Tabs and check "open new windows in a new tab" and optionally check "when I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately".

And if you accidentally close a tab you can restore it by hitting ctrl + shift + t. There are more handy functions, just go to all Firefox menu options to find them

Re: Who uses firefox browser?

Used Firefox for about 3 or 4 years now and wouldn't go back. IE just feels clunky and sluggish compared. I've tried Chrome and quite liked that though as an alternative.

I like Safari, and dislike the "crowdedness" of Explorer and FireFox. It isn't for me.

Firefox FTW. Adblock Plus and NoScript are essentials. Greasemonkey, DownloadHelper, and DownThemAll are icing on the cake.

The Tree Style Tab add-on also has a feature that makes URL bar entries open in a new window, as well as letting you put the tabs wherever you want (i like them at the bottom of the screen).

Also, middle-click on a link to automatically open in a new tab. Took me years to find that one.
