Re: xbox problems

doesn't sound too good, does this happen with every game you have or just this new game? The flasing red lights generally mean that your console has experienced a hardware failure. Make sure your AV cable is connected properly.

Re: xbox problems

It's the console. I bought a 360 when they first came out, and the same thing happened to me, in addition to ruining my copy of Condemned.

Of course, if you've had it for more than 90 days, you're out of luck (same thing happened to me). That's how Microsoft stands behind their customers - by covering their $400 consoles for 3 months of use. What a joke. I've got a 12 year old Nintendo 64, and it's still going like it was the day I got it.

Sorry, had to get that off of my chest. Hope you have better luck than I've had with those tools.

And people wonder why I'm so happy with my Wii's "subpar graphics."

I'm saving for a Wii. It's easily the best of the next gen consoles. It's very affordable, innovative, has awesome games, is highly compact, and will pretty much last forever. All standard fare for Nintendo, really.

Everybody could stand to learn a thing or ten from Nintendo.

Re: xbox problems

Our X360, which we bought when they first came out, died last week. Hardware failure.

Guess what? Microsoft extended the warranty on the X360, and even though it has been through the wringer over the past 2 years, they are fixing it for free. They pay for shipping both ways, repair the machine and if you had someone local repair it, they wll reimburse you the expense.

I was impressed. Just finished Halo3 with my kid.....on easy....now to finish normal by myself.

Yeah man, They're a great addition to any home entertainment center. I'd also recommend getting a component video cable if you have component video inputs on your TV. I picked one up last night and the picture is much sharper. Also I've bought quite a few games so if you're unsure about a game it's likely that you could ask me and I can tell you if it's worth it or not. As for Xbox 360 I must admit that if there were no Wii I'd go with Xbox. Never been a fan of Microsoft but they've done a good job more or less with it. PS3 on the other hand is a freaking boat anchor!

I hate to be the one who pisses in your Wheaties, but I'd start saving for a PS3, if that's the case.

It's really not a question of "will my Xbox 360 fail?", but more a question of "when will my Xbox 360 fail?".

The failure rate of the Xbox is just massive. Over 30%, if I remember correctly. I don't think the original Xbox's were much more reliable, either. I had two fail on me within 3 years of eachother, before I even got my XB360.

Just sell it to somebody while it still works, and buy a new console.

I already know which games I'm buying right off the bat, bro. Twilight Princess (always been a huge Zelda fan), Resident Evil 4, Super Smash Bros., and Super Paper Mario.

If there were no Wii, I'd be going for the PS3. I can honestly say that I'd rather just shell out the $600 right up front for a PS3, which is far superior to the 360 in almost every aspect, including value. For anybody that's had to deal with Microsoft's lame ass excuse for customer service (with the exception of a few people), they'll all tell you that it's pretty much a joke. After 2 of my Xbox's, and my only 360 failing, I'm finished with Microsoft. I don't care how good their games are.
