Youtube recordings

I'm about to venture into recording some clips for uploading to Youtube and I'm a bit at a loss as to what kit I need.

Can anyone recommend what camera to use and what recodring software would be suitable.

I'm a bit of a numpty with this sort of thing so any help would be welcome

I just got a Panasonic PV-GS320 camcorder and I'm going to use the built in mic for a while and see how that goes for simple little Youtube clips.

For starters you could go with a simple Canon digital camera that has video recording at 30 fps, a 1gb or 2gb card. ( 2 gb will get you around 16 mins at 30 fps at 640x480 video and less will = more time ). For software the cheap solution is windows movie maker and the low expense option would be adobe premiere elements version.
