A hard decision to make

I just painted my Tokai AST-33 Strat to white finish(or actually it's not ready yet) and I also deepened forearm and tummy cut to make it more comfortable. And now I have a hard decision to make, what kind of pickguard?

I already have a black pickguard with black Duncan Dimebucker, stock single and duncan JB.jr pickup and chrome knobs, at first I was going to use that but then I relized that it would look really cool with white pickguard and white Dimarzio HS3, stock single, Dimarzio HS3 pickups and with either chrome or white plastic knobs, little bit like those old 60's Fender strats. The third choice would be white pickguard and black HSS pickups(the ones I mentioned above) and chrome knobs.

I already have white pickguard and white knobs so only thing I would have to buy is Dimarzio HS3 pups if I decide to use them.

So what do you think? Tomorrow I will post some pics too when I get digi camera so you will get better idea what I'm talking about here.

I voted black/black as I think that would look cool in a VH'78 kind of way.

Actually, for a while I was thinking painting it just like EVH's black and white stripe but without stripes it looks like Jake E.Lee's Strat.

Re: A hard decision to make

Bro don't do the EVH paint job on it! - try not to change the look so much, a gold mirror scratch plate, gold nobs & gold hardware, tuners, trem, ect -look's tops on a white body with black pickups, it will make for a more exspensive look to the guitar, i have a guitar like this & i offen get asked can i buy it form you, anyway bro i hope your happy with it in the end result.

Cheers- Jake

Hmm... sounds interesting, gold hardware would look good on white. And, no I won't paint it like EVH's guitars, at first it was on my mind for a little while but no. I see alot of cheap project guitars painted like EVH's guitars and I won't do that.

Ofcourse if I can't make up my mind about pickguard I can use one pickguard for some time and then change to another if I feel so.
